પોર્ટલેન્ડમાં રાષ્ટ્રપતિ ડોનાલ્ડ ટ્રમ્પના સમર્થકોના એક જૂથ અને બ્લેક લાઈવ્ઝ મેટરના પ્રદર્શનકારીઓ વચ્ચે ઝડપ થઈ હતી. આ દરમિયાન મોડી રાત્રે એક વ્યકિતની ગોળી મારવામાં આવી હતી. પોર્ટલેન્ડમાં ત્યારથી હલચલ મચી જ્યારથી એ ખબર સામે આવી કે બૈઝ અથવા મ વગરના ફેડરલ અધિકારીઓ અસાધારણ અધિકારી વિરોધ કરી રહેલા લોકોની અટકાયત કરે છે. પોર્ટલેન્ડ પોલીસના એક અધિકારીએ કહ્યં હતું કે, દક્ષિણપૂર્વ 3 એવન્યુ અને સાઉથવેસ્ટ એલ્ડર સ્ટ્રીટ વિસ્તારમાં ગોળીનો અવાજ સાંભળ્યો હતો. આ દરમિયાન તેમણે ત્યાં જોયુ તો એક વ્યક્તિને ગોળી લાગી હતી અને તે શખ્સનું ત્યાં જ મોત થયું હતું.
