મુંબઇ: બોમ્બે સ્ટોક એક્સચેન્જના 30 શેર પર આધારિત સેન્સેક્સ મંગળવારે શરૂઆતના કારોબારના ઘટાડાના વલણ સાથે ખુલ્યો હતો. રિટેલ ફુગાવાના તીવ્ર વધારાથી રોકાણકારો પર અસર પડી છે. જેના કારણે શેર બજારમાં ઘટાડો નોંધાયો હતો.

સેનસેક્સ શરૂઆતી કારોબારમાં 50.26 અંક એટલે કે 0.12 ટકાના ઘટાડા સાથે 41,809.43 પોઇન્ટની સપાટીએ ટ્રેડ કરી રહ્યો હતો. જ્યારે નેશનલ સ્ટોક એક્સચેન્જના 50 શેર પર આધારિત નિફ્ટી પ્રારંભિક કારોબારમાં 13.80 પોઇન્ટ અથવા 0.11 ટકાના ઘટાડા સાથે 12,315.75 પોઇન્ટના સ્તરે હતો.

HDFC બેન્ક, એચડીએફસી, ICICI બેન્ક, હિન્દુસ્તાન યુનિલિવર, L&T, અલ્ટ્રાટેક સિમેન્ટ અને ONGCના શેરમાં 0.63 ટકાનો ઉછાળો જોવા મળ્યો હતો. બીજી તરફ ટાટા સ્ટીલ, HCL ટેક, મહિન્દ્રા એન્ડ મહિન્દ્રા, TCS અને એશિયા પેઇન્ટ્સમાં 1.04 ટકા સુધીનો ઉછાળો નોંધાયો હતો.

Mumbai: Sensex on Tuesday logged a fresh all-time high of 41,903.36 despite a sharp rise in inflation amid already slowing economic activity in the country.

Retail inflation shot to a five-and-a-half-year high of 7.35 per cent in December, breaching the central bank's outer limit target of 6 per cent, sparking fears of stagflation.

At 10.04 a.m. the Sensex was down 20.66 points at 41,839.03. It opened at 41,883.09 and advanced to touch the intra-day high of 41,903.36 and a low of 41,770.90.

Nifty at magic figure

For the first time, the key market index touched the magic figure 12345. It should be noted that the NIFTY 50 constitutes share price movement of country’s 50 major listed companies.

The Index was launched on 1 April 1996 and is a much broad-based index than the BSE Sensex, which is one of the oldest equity trading platforms in Asia.

The top gainers on the BSE were Tata Steel, TCS, Hero MotoCorp, HCL Tech, ITC and Mahindra and Mahindra.

The laggards were the index-heavyweights like HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
