એશિયા કપની પોતાની પ્રથમ મેચમાં ભારતે પાકિસ્તાનને 5 વિકેટે હરાવ્યું હતું. પ્રથમ બેટિંગ કરવા આવેલી પાકિસ્તાનની ટીમ માત્ર 147 રન બનાવીને આઉટ થઈ ગઈ હતી. જવાબમાં ભારતની ટીમે પાંચ વિકેટ અને 2 બોલ બાકી રહેતા મેચ જીતી લીધી હતી.
