পুরুলিয়া, ১১ ফেব্রুয়ারি : পাওনাদারদের হাত থেকে পালিয়েও শেষ পর্যন্ত ধরা পড়ল বিশ্ব হিন্দু পরিষদের সম্পাদক তথা BJP কর্মী কার্তিক গড়াই। অপহরণের নাটক করে পালালেও ধরা পড়ে গেল পুলিশের কাছে। গতরাতে তাকে কলকাতার পঞ্চসায়র থানার বঙ্গবন্ধু হাউজ় থেকে ধরে পুলিশ। আজ তাকে পুরুলিয়া জেলা আদালতে তোলা হয়।

পুলিশ সূত্রের খবর, কার্তিক ৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি যোগী আদিত্যনাথের সভা থেকে ফেরার পথে নিখোঁজ হয়। পরদিন সকালে উরমা গ্রামে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের একটি কার্যালয়ের কাছ থেকে তার মোটরবাইক উদ্ধার হয়। এই ঘটনায় তার পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে থানায় অপহরণের অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হয়েছিল।

পুলিশ তদন্ত করে জানতে পারে, বাজারে কয়েক লাখ টাকার ঋণ আছে কার্তিকের। পাওনাদাররা তাকা টাকা ফেরত দেওয়ার জন্য চাপ দিচ্ছিল। তাই অপহরণের নাটক করে সে পালিয়ে যায় বলে অভিযোগ। পুলিশ কার্তিকের মোবাইল ফোনের টাওয়ার লোকেশন ট্র্যাক করে তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে।

কার্তিক ঝাড়খণ্ডের কাড্রা থানার মঙ্গলময় পাল নামে এক ব্যক্তির আধার কার্ড দেখিয়ে কলকাতার একটি হোটেলে গা ঢাকা দিয়েছিল। তার বিরুদ্ধে ৪২০ ধারা সহ বেশ কয়েকটি ধারায় মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে বলে জানায় জেলার পুলিশ সুপার আকাশ মাঘারিয়া।

"Today what I'm trying to do is actually meet with basically some financial service providers and clients to see first of all what are they stumbling with when they're trying to grow and really give them better services and more services to people that really need it. And of course, from the client side in the end of the day it is about giving a service to a client that will actually improve their lifestyle and really improve their situation. So it is how that service actually really helps them. So I'm trying to learn from them, what is it that they really need and which also other stumbling blocks to actually make a better life. So of course I've been informed by all my partners about the regulatory frameworks and things that should still need to be done, the amount of work that is already been done and how to actually coordinate and corporate further with many many partners to actually really get to having universal access and usage of financial services to the positive impact of all Jordanians and all the host communities that are living in Jordan."

"Until now, Jordan has been growing. We have 33 percent of the population that actually has access to financial services. Their usage is still lagging, so we need to concentrate on that. And so we have a long way to go until we actually achieve that 100 percent, But that's what I'm here for to actually together with all our partners get a little bit of more speed onto that development."

"Universally, across the globe, I focus on three groups, because the three groups are in generally are lagging behind: those that are the poorest mostly the 40 percent poorest of any community in every country. The rural, because it's much more difficult to get to the rural areas. And the women, because sometimes it's not just a question (of) we will grow on, you know women just adopt these products and they will use them. Sometime you need to have some customer-centric designed products for women. For example, in the case of Jordan we just had an example this morning that by actually having women agents, you know ladies would actually be much more prone to open an account, give them the ID, have a photocopy, have a better explanation than if men would actually offer that to them. So little changes like these actually make a huge change. In general, it is extremely important that women are independent. Examples of entrepreneurs like Fatima here are wonderful and I think, you know, investing in women to be successful and being an example to other women is extremely important."

STORYLINE:
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands on Monday met with female entrepreneurs in Jordan, as she visited the country in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.
The meeting took place at a guest house owned by a Jordanian woman who built a tourism business with the help of a business loan and coaching from the non-profit Microfund for Women (MFW).
During her visit, Queen Maxima will focus on improving access to financial services to enhance refugees' prospects of personal development.
There are approximately three million refugees from various countries living in Jordan.
More than 760-thousand of them are registered with the UNHCR.
A large proportion of them live outside refugee camps and are trying to build independent lives.
The visit of Queen Maxima is part of an official invitation by the Jordanian government, where she will also meet with Jordanian officials.
She is due to meet with King Abdullah on Tuesday , as well as with international development partners, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Bank Group (WB) and the World Food Programme (WFP).
