দিল্লি, 15 অগাস্ট : সাফল্যের বিচারে ভারতের সেরা অধিনায়ক মহেন্দ্র সিং ধোনি, আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট থেকে অবসর নিলেন স্বমেজাজে ৷ ইনস্টাগ্রামে একটি ভিডিয়ো পোস্ট করে ধোনি লেখেন, ‘‘ কেরিয়ারে জুড়ে তোমাদের ভালোবাসা ও সমর্থনের জন্য ধন্যবাদ ৷ 19টা 29 মিনিট থেকে আমাকে অবসর প্রাপ্ত ক্রিকেটার বলতে পারো ৷’’
দীর্ঘ 16 বছরের কেরিয়ারে ভারতকে একাধিক সাফল্য এনে দিয়েছেন ক্যাপ্টেন কুল ৷ তার মধ্যে আছে ওয়ানডে বিশ্বকাপ ও টি-20 বিশ্বকাপ, চ্যাম্পিয়ন্স ট্রফি ৷ ধোনির অবসরের কথা সামনে আসতেই ধোনির উদ্দেশে সোশাল মিডিয়ায় ভালোবাসা ও শুভেচ্ছার বন্য বইতে শুরু করে ৷ তাঁর প্রাক্তন সতীর্থ থেকে রাজনীতিবিদ বাদ যাননি কেউ ৷ কে নেই সেই তালিকায় ৷ সচিন তেন্ডুলকর, সৌরভ গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়, স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রী অমিত শাহ, স্মৃতি ইরানি, ঝাড়খণ্ডের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হেমন্ত সোরেন, নিতীন গড়করি, গৌতম গম্ভীর, বিরাট কোহলি সবাই ধোনিকে শুভেচ্ছা জানান ৷
2004 সালে বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে অভিষেক হয় ধোনির ৷ পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেটে তিনি প্রথম শতরান করেন ৷ 2007 সালে T20 বিশ্বকাপে জাতীয় দলের অধিনায়কের দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয় ধোনিকে ৷ সেই শুরু , এর পর গোটা বিশ্ব দেখেছে এক নতুন ভারতকে , যার দায়িত্বে ছিলেন 'ক্যাপ্টেন কুল' । 2007-এ পাকিস্তানকে হারিয়ে প্রথম ICC T20 বিশ্বকাপ জেতে ভারত ৷ চার বছর পর 2011 সালের ওয়ানডে বিশ্বকাপ ঘরে তোলে মেন ইন ব্লুরা ৷ সেই দলের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন মাহি ৷ 2014 সালে টেস্ট ক্রিকেট থেকে সরে দাঁড়ান তিনি ৷
