নয়াদিল্লি, 27 অক্টোবর: ব্রিটিশ প্রধানমন্ত্রী ঋষি সুনাকের (Rishi Sunak) সঙ্গে কথা বললেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি (Narendra Modi ) । ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত সুনাক ব্রিটিশ প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার পর এটি তাঁদের প্রথম বার্তালাপ । টুইটারে মোদি লিখেছেন, "ঋষি সুনাকের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে পেরে খুব আনন্দিত (PM Modi speaks to Sunak) । যুক্তরাজ্যের প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করায় তাঁকে অভিনন্দন জানালাম । আমরা আমাদের কৌশলগত অংশীদারিত্বকে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে একসঙ্গে কাজ করব ।"

ব্রিটেনের প্রথম এশীয় তথা ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শুক্রবার শপথ নেবেন ঋষি সুনাক (Rishi Sunak) । তার আগেই দিনই মোদির সঙ্গে ফোনালাপ করলেন ইংরেজদের নয়া নেতা । টুইটারে সুনাক লিখেছেন, "ধন্যবাদ নরেন্দ্র মোদি । আমি আমার নতুন ভূমিকায় কাজ শুরু করার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই আপনার সঙ্গে কথা হল । যুক্তরাজ্য এবং ভারতের মধ্যে অনেক মিল । আগামিতে নিরাপত্তা, প্রতিরক্ষা এবং অর্থনৈতিক অংশীদারিত্ব আরও মজবুত করা এবং আমাদের গণতন্ত্র কী অর্জন করতে পারবে, তা নিয়ে আমরা একত্রে কাজ করব ।"
