বার্মিংহাম, 1 অগস্ট: কমনওয়েলথ গেমসে (Commonwealth Games 2022) ভারতকে তিন নম্বর সোনা এনে দিয়েছেন হাওড়ার ছেলে অচিন্ত্য শিউলি ৷ ভারোত্তোলনে পুরুষদের 73 কেজি বিভাগে তিন রাউন্ডে মোট 313 কিলো ওজন তুলে রেকর্ড গড়েছেন তিনি ৷ বাংলার ছেলের এই অসামান্য সাফল্যে গর্বিত গোটা দেশ (President Droupadi Murmu Wishes Achinta Sheuli for His Gold in Commonwealth Games 2022) ৷ আর এই সাফল্যের জন্য তাঁকে অভিনন্দন জানালেন ভারতের রাষ্ট্রপতি দ্রৌপদী মুর্মু, প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি এবং মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ৷

এ দিন অচিন্ত্য ক্লিন এবং জার্ক বিভাগে প্রথম চেষ্টায় 166 কিলো ওজন তোলেন । তবে, দ্বিতীয়বারে ব্যর্থ হলেও, তৃতীয় চেষ্টায় তোলেন 170 কিলো ৷ একাদশতম বাঙালি হিসাবে কমনওয়েলথে সোনা জিতেছেন অচিন্ত্য শিউলি । ভারোত্তোলনের 73 কিলো বিভাগে রেকর্ড গড়েছেন তিনি । প্রথম চেষ্টায় তোলেন 137 কিলো ৷ পরের বার 140 কিলো, তৃতীয় চেষ্টায় 143 কিলো । গেমস রেকর্ড গড়েন মোট 313 কিলো ওজন তুলে ।
