ਤਿਰੂਵਨੰਤਪੁਰਮ/ਕੇਰਲ : ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਕੇਰਲ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਹੋਈ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਖਬਰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਕਿ ਕੇਰਲਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ 79 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਦੱਸਦੀਏ ਕਿ ਕੇਰਲ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਨੇਤਾ ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਦੀ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਤੜਕੇ ਬੇਂਗਲੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਿਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਓਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਗ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੌੜ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਔਮੰਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ, "ਅੱਪਾ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ"। ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਨੇਤਾ ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਦਾ ਬੈਂਗਲੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਚਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪਿਨਾਰਾਈ ਵਿਜਯਨ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ : ਕੇਰਲ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪਿਨਾਰਾਈ ਵਿਜਯਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ 'ਤੇ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਜਨਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਤੀਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਹੈ। ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ, ਕੇਰਲ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪਿਨਾਰਾਈ ਵਿਜਯਨ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ, 'ਇੱਕ ਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਨੇੜਿਓਂ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸੀ।'

ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕਰੀਅਰ: ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੇਤਾ ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ 2004-06 ਅਤੇ 2011-16 ਤੱਕ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਕੇਰਲ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਨੇ 27 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਲ 1970 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ 11 ਚੋਣਾਂ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਚਾਂਡੀ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹਲਕੇ ਪੁਥੁਪੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਓਮਨ ਚਾਂਡੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕੈਬਨਿਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਹੈ।
