ନୂଆଦିଲ୍ଲୀ: ଭାରତୀୟ କ୍ରୀଡାଜଗତ ପାଇଁ ଆଜିର ଦିନ ଏକ ଦୁଃଖର ଦିନ ହୋଇଛି । ଦେଶ ପାଇଁ ଦୁଇ ଥର ଅଲମ୍ପିକ୍‌ ପଦକ ଜିତିଥିବା ହକି କିମ୍ବଦନ୍ତୀ ତଥା ପଦ୍ମଶ୍ରୀ ପୁରସ୍କାର ବିଜେତା ଚରଣଜିତ୍‌ ସିଂହଙ୍କ ପରଲୋକ ହୋଇଛି । ଗୁରୁବାର ହିମାଚଳ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଉନା ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ତାଙ୍କର ବାର୍ଦ୍ଧକ୍ୟଜନିତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହୋଇଛି । ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ବେଳକୁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ୯୨ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।

ଅର୍ଜୁନ ଆୱାର୍ଡ ବିଜେତା ଭାରତର ଗୌରବମୟ ଦିନର ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଅଂଶ ରହିଥିଲେ । ୧୯୬୪ ଟୋକିଓ ଅଲମ୍ପିକ୍‌ସରେ ଚରଣଜିତ୍‌ ସିଂଙ୍କ ନେତୃତ୍ବରେ ଫାଇନାଲରେ ପାକିସ୍ତାନକୁ ହରାଇ ଐତିହାସିକ ସ୍ବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପଦକ ଜିତିଥିଲା ଭାରତ । ଏଥିସହ ୧୯୬୦ ରୋମ୍‌ ଅଲମ୍ପିକ୍‌ସରେ ରୌପ୍ୟ ପଦକ ବିଜେତା ଭାରତୀୟ ହକି ଟିମର ସଦସ୍ୟ ରହିଥିଲେ । 1962 ଏସିଆନ ଗେମ୍ସରେ ରୌପ୍ୟ ବିଜେତା ଭାରତୀୟ ଟିମର ସଦସ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ରହିଥିଲେ ।

ନଭେମ୍ବର ୨୦, ୧୯୨୯ରେ ଜନ୍ମ ହୋଇଥିବା ଚରଣଜିତ୍‌ ଡେରାଡୁନର COL.Brown କେମ୍ବ୍ରିଜ ସ୍କୁଲ୍‌ ଓ ପଞ୍ଜାବ ବିଶ୍ବ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର ପୂର୍ବତନ ଛାତ୍ର ରହିଥିଲେ । ଅନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ ହକିରେ ସଫଳତମ କ୍ୟାରିୟର ପରେ ସେ ସିମଲାରେ ହିମାଚଳ ପ୍ରଦେଶ ବିଶ୍ବବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟରେ ଶାରିରୀକ ଶିକ୍ଷା(Physical Education) ବିଭାଗର ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ ଭାବେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଥିଲେ । କିମ୍ବଦନ୍ତୀ ଅଲମ୍ପିକ୍‌ ଚମ୍ପିଆନ ଚରଣଜିତ୍‌ ସିଂହଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତରେ ହକି ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ଗୁରୁବାର ଗଭୀର ଶୋକବ୍ୟକ୍ତ କରିଛି ।
