हैदराबाद: भारत की गोल्डन गर्ल निकहत जरीन के मुक्को ने देश को गोल्ड मेडल दिलाया. उन्होंने बर्मिंघम कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स 2022 के 50 किग्रा वजन वर्ग में गोल्ड मेडल अपने नाम किया. उनके मुक्कों का आयरलैंड की कार्ली मैकनॉल के पास कोई जवाब नहीं था और भारतीय मुक्केबाज 5-0 की एकतरफा जीत दर्ज करते हुए चैंपियन बनीं. मौजूदा वर्ल्ड चैंपियन भी निकहत जरीन ही हैं. गोल्ड मेडल जीतने के बाद उन्होंने पीएम मोदी के साथ एक और सेल्फी लेने की बात कही.
उन्होंने कहा, मैंने पहले भी पीएम मोदी के साथ सेल्फी ली थी. उस वक्त टीशर्ट पर ऑटोग्राफ लिया था. इस बार भी मैं एक और सेल्फी लूंगी और इस बार ग्ल्व्स पर ऑटोग्राफ लूंगी. इस मेडल के साथ ही निकहत जरीन ने साबित कर दिया कि वह वर्तमान में भारत में सर्वश्रेष्ठ मुक्केबाज हैं. उन्होंने वजन कम करके एक नए भार वर्ग में विश्व चैंपियनशिप का खिताब जीतने के लगभग तीन महीने बाद कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स 2022 में गोल्ड मेडल अपने नाम किया.

तेलंगाना की मुक्केबाज के सामने चुनौती थी कि वह विश्व चैंपियनशिप में 52 से अपना वजन 50 किलोग्राम तक कम कर लें. क्योंकि यह भार वर्ग है, जो एशियाई खेलों और ओलिंपिक कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा है. निकहत ने इस चुनौती का सामना किया और यह उत्तरी आयरलैंड की कार्ली मैकनॉल के साथ उसके मुकाबले से स्पष्ट था. उन्होंने फाइनल में विरोधी पर 5-0 से बड़ी जीत दर्ज की. कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स के लिए बर्मिंघम आने से ठीक पहले उत्तरी आयरलैंड की राष्ट्रीय टीम के साथ एक प्रशिक्षण शिविर के दौरान मैकनॉल के साथ मुकाबला करने के बाद निकहत को अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी के खिलाफ योजना बनाने की जरूरत थी.

निकहत ने बताया, उत्तरी आयरलैंड में ट्रेनिंग कैंप ने मुझे इस प्रतिद्वंद्वी से मुकाबला करने का एक विचार दिया, क्योंकि मैंने पहले इस भार वर्ग में नहीं खेला है और कभी भी इनमें से किसी भी मुक्केबाज से नहीं लड़ा है. मैं भारतीय मुक्केबाजी महासंघ, भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण और खेल मंत्रालय को शिविर की व्यवस्था के लिए धन्यवाद देना चाहती हूं. कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में निकहत का यह पहला गोल्ड है, जो कि उनका टूर्नामेंट में अपनी पहली उपस्थिति है.

वह साल 2018 में खेलों के लिए क्वॉलीफाई नहीं कर पाईं, क्योंकि एमसी मेरी कॉम से ट्रायल में हार गईं थीं. निकहत पहले दौर से हावी रहीं, पांच जजों में से प्रत्येक से 10 अंक जीते. वह दूसरे दौर में भी एकदम सही थीं और उन्होंने तीसरे और अंतिम दौर में भी अपनी लय बनाए रखी और एक प्रभावशाली जीत हासिल की. निकहत रविवार को गोल्ड मेडल जीतने वाले तीसरी भारतीय मुक्केबाज हैं, जिन्होंने कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स 2018 से मुक्केबाजी रिंग में गोल्ड के मामले में भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन की बराबरी की.
