लंदन में गति का नया रिकार्ड बना, 119.584 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से चली टुक-टुक

मैट एवरर्ड ने टुक-टुक चला कर एक नया रिकार्ड बनाया है. उन्होंने अपना पुराना रिकार्ड ब्रेक किया है.

थाईलैंड: मैट एवरर्ड को कई टुक-टुक चलाते देखे जा सकते हैं. टुक-टुक विश्व गति रिकॉर्ड धारक के रूप में गिनीज रिकार्ड में भी इनका नाम शामिल हुआ है.

टुक-टुक चलाने वाले एक व्यक्ति ने रिकार्ड बनाने की खुशी जाहिर की उसका नाम मैट एवरार्ड है. वे कहते हैं कि बहुत खुश हूं, सपना साकार होने जैसा लग रहा है. वहीं उनके पीछे सवारी के रूप में बैठे उनके भाई ने कहा कि बहुत खुश हूं और प्रसन्न हूं.

बता दें, थाईलैंड की सड़कों पर मैट को टुक-टुक चलते देखा गया. इस रिकार्ड को बनाने वाले ये दोनों भाई ब्रिट्रिश मूल के हैं.

एसेक्स के मैट एवरर्ड ने सोमवार को गिनीज बुक ऑफ रिकॉर्ड्स में प्रवेश किया. उन्होंने 119.584 किलोमीटर (74.306 मील) प्रति घंटे की गति से अपने टुक- टुक को चलाया है.

एवरर्ड गिनीज द्वारा 110 किलोमीटर (68 मील) प्रति घंटे की दर से बेंचमार्क सेट करने के साथ रिकॉर्ड बनाने का प्रयास करने वाले पहले व्यक्ति थे.

उन्होंने यॉर्कशायर के एलविंगटन एयरफील्ड में अपना स्पीड रिकॉर्ड बनाया था. उन्होंने बताया कि कैसे उन्होंने eBay पर 48 साल पुरानी टुक-टुक को 3,000 पाउंड (3,896 अमेरिकी डॉलर) में खरीदा था.

एवरर्ड ने 10 हजार पाउंड (12,985 अमेरिकी डॉलर) और खर्च किए और इसे मूल दो स्ट्रोक 350सीसी इंजन की जगह 1300 सीसी के ईंधन-इंजेक्टेड डायहत्सु वैन इंजन लगवाया.

119.58 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे रफ्तार के बाद, एवरर्ड ने अब इंजन का आकार बढ़ाने की योजना बनाई है, ताकि वह अपने खुद के रिकॉर्ड को पीछे छोड़ नया रिकार्ड बना सकें.

"So the record title is the fastest auto rickshaw/tuk tuk. And it's a prototype so it's not a standard rickshaw, it's been slightly modified with a engine.  It's a brand new record but it's not just a matter of turning up and doing 10 miles an hour or 15 kilometres per hour and saying can we have the record. We set a minimum, a challenging minimum which we feel for a rickshaw would be 110 kilometres per hour which is shy of about 70 miles per hour."

"I went to a friend's wedding in Thailand. We had a stopover in Bangkok, we went on a few tuk tuk rides with the family and we just thought they were great fun. I'm a complete petrol head, I'm always spending my time looking at different cars on the internet and I was on eBay one night and my wife had gone to bed and I found this tuk tuk for 3 thousand pounds and I decided that I was going to have it and I pressed 'Buy it now' and I dealt with the consequences in the morning."

"The original engine had worn out so we decided to put a new engine in and we got about 10,000 pounds into the build and we had a choice to make whether to stop or carry on so I wrote to the Guinness Book of Records and said is there a world record and they came back and said yes there was and so we carried on with the build and here we are 6 months later doing the world record today."

UK VEHICLE BREAKS WORLD TUK TUK SPEED RECORD
They're usually seen careering along the busy streets of Bangkok in Thailand, but it's a British man who holds the world speed record for a tuk tuk.
Matt Everard, from Essex, on Monday entered the Guinness Book of records when he drove his tuk tuk at a speed of 119.584 kilometres (74.306 miles) per hour.
Everard was the first person to attempt the record after Guinness set a benchmark of a minimum of 110 kilometres (68 miles) per hour.
He made his speed record at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire.
He explained how he had bought the 48-year-old tuk tuk on eBay for 3,000 pounds (3,896 US dollars).
Everard then spent a further 10-thousand pounds (12,985 US dollars)  doing it up and replacing the original two stroke 350cc engine with a 1300 cc fuel-injected Daihatsu van engine.
Not content with 119.58 kilometres an hour, Everard now plans to increase the size of the engine so that he can beat his own record.
