Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh): The Prayagraj police on Monday issued lookout notices against slain gangster Atiq Ahmed's wife Shaista Parveen, and his close aides, Guddu Muslim and Sabir who are presently absconding. Sources say that police officials suspect that they may have fled the country. The Uttar Pradesh police have earlier declared a bounty of Rs 50,000 for Atiq's wife. On April 9, the UP police doubled the reward on Shaista Parveen.

The Prayagraj Police had earlier sent its report to the Uttar Pradesh government following which the lookout notice has been issued in a bid to prevent them from leaving the country for a term of one year. The notice has been sent to all immigration checkpoints so that the Prayagraj police can receive an alert from the agencies concerned in case the suspects try to flee out of the country.

Earlier on April 19 the UP police conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi in a bid to nab Shaista Parveen. Search operations are underway in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj and nearby localities, police said.

Shaista has been on the run ever since Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed on camera during a media interaction. Atiq's son Azad Ahmed was also killed in a police encounter by the Special Task Force on April 13. Earlier on April 25, Atiq's brother-in-law, Akhlaq Ahmed, a health department doctor who allegedly got his hands dirty by providing explosives to absconding shooters and sheltering Guddu Muslim after the murder of Umesh Palin was suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Akhlaq is currently lodged in Prayagraj's Naini Jail. He was posted at Bhavanpur Community Health Center in Meerut. He is the husband of Ayesha Noori, Atiq Ahmed's sister.
