Ernakulam: Special NIA court in Kochi sentenced Subahani Haja Moideen to life imprisonment for joining ISIS and plotting terrorist activities. Along with the life sentence, the NIA court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,10,000. The court observed that there is evidence against Haja Moideen for directly taking part in terrorist activities as well as communicating and planning terrorist activities through social media platforms.
The court also found that Subhani had ordered the latest sniper online. The court ruled that the safety of the community is more important than the interests of the individual and the court also congratulated the NIA officials who interrogated the case.Subahani Haja Moideen was arrested four years ago by the NIA for joining the ISIS and waging terrorist activities against Iraq.
The NIA had found that Haja Moideen entered Iraq illegally through Turkey and took part in the terrorist activities against Iraq from Mosul. The trial for the case was started in the last January and the court prosecuted 46 witnesses including a former Indian Embassy official. Haja Moideen was arrested by the NIA during the Kanakamala terrorist case investigation.
