New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda, who is on two-day visit to West Bengal said that BJP will come in power in the upcoming state elections.
During his rally, he said that the WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has stopped reporting the number of crimes against women to the National Crime Records Bureau and even refused to report the number of COVID-19 cases to the Centre.
"Bengal has the highest number of female domestic crime, human trafficking and rape cases. Mamata Didi has stopped reporting numbers to National Crime Records Bureau and is even refusing to provide number of COVID-19 cases reported in the state", added Nadda.
The BJP president virtually inaugurated nine state party offices in the election-bound state. These new offices will have facilities like e-library, video conferencing facilities and meeting halls.
Nadda affirmed that the party will definitely score more than 200 seats in the upcoming elections.
When asked about the stalwart BJP leaders visiting Bengal, political expert, Rahul Sharma, in an exclusive talk with ETV Bharat said that the saffron party has a track record of working at the booth level. The day on which the Lok Sabha elections was declared, the saffron party has started working on the next project of winning West Bengal.
"If we see the results of LS elections 2019, the condition of the saffron party was pretty good. The party has also performed well in Bihar, despite anti-incumbency in the state. The performance of the saffron party was also good in the recently concluded GHMC elections", added the political expert.
Sharma also predicted a close war between TMC and the saffron party.
"Based on the recently concluded elections, it can be summed up that the party has the potential to form the government in the upcoming elections", said Rahul.
West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 2021. With 294 seats, a keen contest awaits the state as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tries to wrest power from Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.
