Dehradun: The Uttarakhand police have decided to slap the stringent National Security Act (NSA) on people who break the lockdown order and spread rumours.
Talking to ETV Bharat over the phone, DG Law and Order Ashok Kumar said," Uttarakhand Police have started following the lockdown even more strictly with the support of additional troops of Central Security Forces during the second phase of lockdown."
The state police's decision to invoke the NSA comes in the wake of misunderstandings that NSA would be put only in the curfew area of Haldwani and Rudrapur.
The National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked following repeated incidents of violations of lockdown and spreading of rumours related to coronavirus in the state.
