New Delhi: The Indian Railways (IR) is preparing to ensure good speed of superfast trains in Delhi and its surrounding areas, and the next three days would see these trains of 24 coaches running at 130 km per hour of speed in the region, sources said.
According to the official information, trials would be conducted on the New Delhi-Ghaziabad, New Delhi-Ambala and New Delhi-Palwal routes, beginning Friday.
Till date, only a few trains like Shatabdi Express, Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat Express run at the speed of 160 km per hour on these routes but after the trials, to be conducted between July 17 to 19, all super fast trains would run at the speed of 130 km per hour, they said.
It is to be noted that once completed, the project would help over five lakh people.
