New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday has sent a report to the Home Ministry from ground zero in Kashmir.

In his report sent to the MHA, according to the sources, Doval said the situation is normal in Kashmir.

Doval went to Kashmir immediately after Union Home Minister Amit Shah proposed the Bill to modify Article 370 from J&K in the Parliament on Monday.

The NSA told the Centre in his report that the Centre’s decision to modify Article 370 has been widely welcomed by the people of Kashmir.

There is peace and normalcy in J&K. No agitation and people are also moving about for essential work, Doval wrote in his report.

Earlier today Doval met Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik in Srinagar at the Raj Bhavan and discussed the prevailing internal and external security scenario in the state, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.

Governor Malik and NSA Doval had an elaborate discussion on the prevailing external and internal security situations in the state following developments in the Parliament relating to Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

Both of them stressed upon the need to ensure safety and security of general public and emphasised upon the need to maintain constant vigil, alertness and preparedness by various departments to meet any unforeseen situation, the spokesperson said.

They also sought various departments to have synergy in their functioning, he added.
