New Delhi: Days after doctor's protest in West Bengal, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued another advisory to the Mamata government seeking an urgent response in the matter.

The advisory issued by the MHA stated that "this ministry is in receipt of a number of representations from doctors, health care professionals and medical associations from different parts of the country for their safety and security in view of the ongoing strike by doctors in West Bengal. It is requested that a detailed report be sent urgent on the representations and the ongoing strike by the doctors."

It is to be noted that around 300 doctors have resigned from government hospitals in West Bengal as their protest against an attack on their colleagues earlier this week.

This comes nearly four days after a junior doctor at NRS Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal was allegedly attacked by the relative of a patient who died on June 10.

The doctor who was attacked is reportedly admitted in the intensive care unit after he sustained grievous injuries.
