St. Petersburg: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday led the country's first major naval parade in years in St. Petersburg.
Putin went aboard one of the vessels in the Navy Day parade.
The parade included 43 ships and submarines and 4,000 troops.
Russia is commemorating Navy Day with parades in Vladivostok, Sevastopol, Astrakhan, Kronshtadt, Baltiysk, Severomorsk, and St. Petersburg.
The parade on the Neva River in St Petersburg is the largest, with more than 4,000 military officers, 40 warships, submarines and the naval aviation group taking part.
