The elderly woman in Karnataka advertised for a groom and said he should be elder to her. Reports say the rare ad had received responses from interested seniors.

Mysuru (Karnataka): An elderly woman in Karnataka has advertised in a local newspaper for a groom and listed her phone number to let interested people contact her.

"I am 73 years old and retired from government work. I need a healthy Brahmin groom who is 3 years elder than me. Whoever is interested, contact me" the advertisement in Kannada language said.

The woman said that she needs a partner to spend time and she decided to marry as per the law and tradition, reports said.

"I have advertised for it. What's wrong with this," the woman asked. The woman said her first marriage ended in divorce and after her parents passed away, she is now scared to be home alone.
