Kolkata (West Bengal): The first solar eclipse of this year, will be visible only in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh in India shortly before sunset. This will be an annular solar eclipse and this astronomical event occurs when the Sun, Moon and Earth align in a straight line. According to MP Birla Planetarium Director, Debiprasad Durai, the solar eclipse can be seen partially in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh in India. 'Ring of Fire' is a phenomenon that happens when the moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. The annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is farthest from the Earth. Due to its distance from the planet, the moon is unable to completely block the sunlight. Hence the sunlight appears in the form of 'Ring of Fire'.
