PM Modi's meeting with CMs of BJP-ruled states in Varanasi concludes

Addressing a meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states to focus firmly on good governance and to make sure that they remain connected with party cadres and also ensure communication between legislators and party workers.

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a four-and-a-half-hour marathon meeting with the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states in Varanasi. The CMs were asked to focus firmly on good governance and maintain a connect with party workers, sources said.

Chief Ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, along with Deputy CMs from Bihar and Nagaland attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister also asked the CMs to make sure that the implementation of welfare schemes was done in a proper manner and the benefits reached the target groups.

Sources said the PM took feedback from each of the CMs about the state of development in their states.

The Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers will visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple later in the day. Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states are scheduled to visit Ayodhya on December 15 for the darshan of Ram Lalla.

PM Modi is on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi where he inaugurated phase 1 of the newly-constructed Kashi Vishwanath Dham at a cost of around Rs 339 crores on Monday.
