1. Encounter breaks out between security forces, militants in J-K

An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Security forces launched a search operation at Sugan village in Zainapora area following information about the presence of militants there, a police spokesman said.

About 48 per cent of total COVID-19 deaths in the country are concentrated in 25 districts of 8 states, out of which 15 districts are in Maharastra alone, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday. The Ministry reiterated that state government should strictly adhere to the public health strategy in view of the coming festive season.

3. Centre notifies implementation of 11 central laws in JK, changes made in 10 state acts

The Centre has notified two orders specifying that 11 central laws will immediately come into effect in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir while nomenclature of 10 state laws will be changed in view of the change of status of the erstwhile state.

4. Sitharaman mounts veiled attack on Congress over MSP

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday made a veiled attack on Congress vis-a-vis the new farm legislations, saying those who did not even provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) for commodities other than paddy and wheat were now raising 'unreasonable' apprehensions.
