1. Blacklisting foreigners for Tablighi Jamaat activities: Centre to file response in SC

The Centre will file its reply to clarify its stand about the status of visa of around 2,500 citizens from 35 countries, who were blacklisted for ten years for their alleged involvement in Tablighi Jamaat activities.

Thousands of members of the Tablighi Jamaat, including foreigners, participated at a religious gathering at Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz and hundreds of them were found to be infected with coronavirus.

2. Centre, states to discuss COVID-19 testing strategy

Union health secretary Preeti Sudan will interact with state health secretaries over the COVID-19 testing strategy as cases continue to rise across the country. The total number of cases of COVID-19 in the country stands at 5,85,492.

3. MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to expand his cabinet today

The much-awaited expansion of the cabinet in Madhya Pradesh will take place today and some of the former Congress MLAs who joined the BJP in March are likely to be rewarded with ministerial berths.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan took oath as chief minister for a record fourth term on March 23, after Kamal Nath resigned from the top post following a rebellion by nearly two dozen MLAs of the Congress.

4. Delhi HC to hear plea for CBI probe into Rs 3,200 cr worker's fund

The Delhi High Court will take up a PIL seeking CBI probe into alleged misappropriation in the Rs 3,200 crore Cess fund meant for migrant and construction workers in the national capital.

It alleged that there is misappropriation of Rs 3,200 crore Cess fund which is managed by the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers (DBOCW) Welfare Board due to bogus registration of lakhs of non-construction workers as construction workers without any verification and sought CBI probe into the purported large scale corruption.

5. Delhi HC likely to hear case related to National Sports Federations

The Delhi High Court is likely to hear the Sports Ministry's application for granting provisional annual recognition of 54 National Sports Federations (NSFs). The high court had ordered the sports ministry to withdraw the recognition in relation to governance issues within the federations.

6. Shivakumar to take over reins of Karnataka Congress today

Congress troubleshooter D.K. Shivakumar would take over as the party's Karnataka President on Thursday and the event would be streamed live for party leaders and cadres across the state, a party leader said.
