Hyderabad: Today is the 148th day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown, to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens on Tuesday to take precautions during the ongoing monsoon season, noting that this is the time when tropical and vector-borne diseases spread. So far, India has recorded 27,06,450 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 51,797 deaths.

New Delhi: A Delhi Police Inspector with the Police Control Room (PCR) of South Zone, tested positive for COVID-19 succumbed to the infection on Tuesday morning. He was the 16th Delhi Police personnel, who succumbed to coronavirus.
Some hospitals in the national capital have said they are seeing recovered coronavirus patients returning to them with recurrence of the infection.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the first Sero survey showed that over 22% of people from Delhi were exposed to coronavirus. Jain said.

Mumbai: Maharashtra now has more Covid-19 cases--over 600,000--than South Africa, the sixth worst-hit country globally. South Africa has reported 5,89,886 Covid-19 cases as per the reference website worldometers.info.
Bihar
Patna: As many as 3,257 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Bihar on Monday, said the State Health Department on Tuesday. Out of the total COVID-19 cases reported in the state, 368 cases were reported from Patna.

Lucknow: With just two days left for the Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly to begin, 24 staff members of the legislature, including security personnel, have tested positive for Covid-19.

Bhubaneswar: Taking the process further, of strengthening COVID Sachetaks and the young Peer Leaders, who are working intensively at community-level to create awareness on COVID-19, 120 Peer Leaders were provided kits comprising thermal scanners and pulse oximeter besides gloves, sanitizers and mask by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) today.
