'PM Modi continues to remain popular with 66% approval rating'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to be popular among the masses. As per a survey by the American Data Intelligence Firm Morning Consult, PM Modi's global approval rating at 66% put him in the number one spot among the top leaders.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to be popular among the masses. As per a survey by the American Data Intelligence Firm Morning Consult, PM Modi's global approval rating at 66% put him in the number one spot among the top leaders. In the survey conducted by this organisation among 2126 adults of India, where 66% gave approval rating to Narendra Modi, while 28% people didn't exude confidence in PM Modi.

The approval ratings as per the survey:-

  • Narendra Modi (India) - 66%
  • Mario Draghi (Italy) - 65%
  • Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Mexico) - 63%
  • Scott Morrison (Australia) - 54%
  • Angela Merkel (Germany) - 53%
  • Joe Biden (USA) - 53%
  • Justin Trudeau (Canada) - 48%
  • Boris Johnson (UK) -44%
  • Moon Jae-in (South Korea) - 35%
  • Pedro Sánchez (Spain) - 36%
  • Jair Bolsonaro (Brazil) - 35%
  • Emmanuel Macron (France) - 35%
  • Yoshihide Suga (Japan) - 29%

The result of this survey has come at a time when the opposition is directly questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the handling of the second phase of Covid-19. In this survey, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ahead of the representatives of several countries of the world, including Britain, Russia, America, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany and France.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Chief Whip and MP Shiv Pratap Shukla in Rajya Sabha says that the graph of Narendra Modi's popularity has not seen downward curve among the public. "The way the Prime Minister's approval rating has come, he has left behind the heads of many countries and this proves that the image of the Prime Minister has increased not only in India but also at the international level," Shiv Pratap Shukla added.
