পানিপথ, 28 অগস্ট: অপ্রতিরোধ্য নীরজ চোপড়া! কে থামাবে দেশের এই 'সোনার ছেলে'কে! এক ঢিলে দুই পাখি মেরেছেন হরিয়ানার পানিপথের ছেলে। বিশ্ব অ্যাথলিট চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপের ফাইনালে উঠেই নীরজ হাতে পেয়েছেন প্যারিস অলিম্পিক্সের টিকিট । আর গতকাল হাঙ্গেরির বুদাপেস্টে সেইসঙ্গে ইতিহাস গড়লেন নীরজ চোপড়া ৷ উৎসবের মেজাজ তাঁর গ্রাম তথা দেশজুড়ে ৷ সোনা জেতার পর নীরজ চোপড়ার বাবা এবং পরিবারের সদস্যরা মেতেছেন খুশিতে ৷ নীরজের বাবা সতীশ কুমার বলছেন, 'দেশের জন্য এটি গর্বের মুহূর্ত ৷'

তিনি আরও বলেন, "নীরজ ভারতে ফিরে এলে আমরা উদযাপন করব ৷ এটি আমাদের পরিবার, আমাদের গ্রাম এবং সমগ্র দেশের জন্য একটি সোনালী মুহূর্ত। এ এক আনন্দের মুহূর্ত।" ছেলের সোনা জয়ের পর সকলেই মিষ্টিমুখ করেছেন ৷ প্রতিবেশীদেরও মিষ্টি খাওয়ানো হয় ৷ গতকাল ফাইনালে ফের একবার দেখা গিয়েছে ভারত-পাকিস্তান মহারণ। রুপো জিতেছেন পাকিস্তানের থ্রোয়ার আরসাদ নাদিম।

যোগ্যতা অর্জন পর্বে আরশাদ ছিলেন ঠিক নীরজের পিছনেই। তাঁর জ্যাভলিন 86.79 মিটার দূরত্ব স্পর্শ করেছিল। ফাইনালে 88.17 মিটার দূরে জ্যাভলিন ছোড়েন নীরজ। শেষ হাসি হেসে 'সোনার ছেলে' নীরজের গলায় শোভা পেয়েছে সোনার মেডেল। হাতে তেরঙা। নিজের দ্বিতীয় থ্রোতেই সর্বোচ্চ দূরত্ব জ্যাভলিনটি ছোড়েন নীরজ । তার আগদে প্রথম থ্রোটি ফাউল হয়। 2021 সালের 7 অগস্ট অলিম্পিক্সে প্রথমবার দেশকে জ্যাভলিনে সোনা এনে দিয়েছিলেন নীরজ, এবার এনে দিলেন বিশ্ব অ্যাথলেটিক্স-এর মঞ্চে।

এর মাঝে 2022-এ ডায়মন্ড লিগেও সোনা পেয়েছেন নীরজ ৷ এবার 2023-এ বিশ্ব অ্যাথলেটিক্স চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে এনে দিলেন সোনা ৷ অলিম্পিক্সে নেমেই সোনার পদক জিতেছিলেন নীরজ। তারপর থেকে আর ফিরে তাকাতে হয়নি তাঁকে। একের পর প্রতিযোগিতায় নেমেছেন এবং আগের থেকে অনেক বেশি শক্তিশালী দেখিয়েছে তাঁকে। বিশ্ব অ্যাথলেটিক্সে দেশে প্রথম সোনাও এল নীরজের হাত ধরেই। গত বছর এই প্রতিযোগিতায় রুপো জিতেছিলেন তিনি। তাঁর পরবর্তী লক্ষ্য 90 মিটার স্পর্শ করা ৷
