আগেই শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় । এবার শতবর্ষে ইস্টবেঙ্গল ক্লাবকে শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি ৷

কলকাতা, 1 অগাস্ট : কোরোনা সংক্রমণের জেরে সেভাবে কোনও অনুষ্ঠান করা যায়নি ৷ ক্লাব তাঁবুতে ছোটো করে পালন করা হয়েছে ইস্টবেঙ্গলের শতবর্ষ ৷ কিন্তু, শতবর্ষে ক্লাবকে শুভেচ্ছায় ভরিয়ে দিয়েছেন অনেকেই । টুইটারে শুভেচ্ছা জানান প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদিও ৷

টুইটারে প্রধানমন্ত্রী লেখেন, ‘‘ইস্টবেঙ্গলের শতবর্ষে ফুটবলার, সদস্য ও সমর্থকদের অভিনন্দন ৷ এটা ভারতের ক্রীড়াক্ষেত্রে একটি নতুন মাইলস্টোন ৷ এছাড়া ফুটবলের ঐতিহ্য ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ক্রীড়াপ্রেমের ক্ষেত্রেও একটি নতুন মাইলস্টোন ৷ ইস্টবেঙ্গলের মশাল ময়দানকে সর্বদা আলোকিত করুক ৷’’

এর আগে ছন্দ মিলিয়ে শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়েছিলেন রাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ৷ লিখেছিলেন, ‘‘100 বছর ধরে, মাঠ কাঁপাচ্ছে যে দল, লাল-হলুদের ঝড়ের নাম ইস্টবেঙ্গল ৷’’ বাংলার ফুটবলে তিন প্রধান হিসেবে ধরা হয় মোহনবাগান, ইস্টবেঙ্গল ও মহামেডানকে ৷ আগেই শতবর্ষ পার করেছে মোহনবাগান ৷ এবার ইস্টবেঙ্গলও সেই তালিকায় নাম তুলে নিল ৷

ক্লাব শতবর্ষে পা দেওয়ায় রাজ্যের নানা প্রান্তে নানা ভাবে দিনটি পালন করেছেন সমর্থকরা ৷ কোথাও মাস্ক বিতরণ করে আবার কোথাও কেক কেটে শতবর্ষ পালন করেছেন তাঁরা । সকাল থেকেই ক্লাব তাঁবুতে ভিড় জমিয়েছিলেন অনেকে ৷ সেখানে কেক কেটে ও ক্লাবের পতাকা উত্তোলন করে পালন করা হয় শতবর্ষ ৷
