শেষ ইচ্ছেপূরণ হল না শুটার দাদির, করোনা কাড়ল প্রাণ

চলতি সপ্তাহে শুরুতে শ্বাসকষ্টজনিত সমস্যা নিয়ে মেরঠের একটি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন ‘শুটার দাদি’ ওরফে উত্তর প্রদেশের  বর্ষীয়ান বন্দুকবাজ চন্দ্রো তোমার। এরপরই তাঁর করোনা আক্রান্তের খবর 'দাদির' টুইটারের মাধ্যমে সকলকে জানায় তার পরিবার। আজ হাসপাতালেই শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। মৃত্যুকালে বয়স হয়েছিল 89 ।

নয়াদিল্লি, 30 এপ্রিল : পুরুষতান্ত্রিক সমাজে নজির গড়েছিলেন এই মহিলা বন্দুকবাজ। কিন্তু শেষ রক্ষা আর হল না। করোনার কাছে হার মানলেন ‘শুটার দাদি’।

চন্দ্রো তোমারের লড়াকু মনোভাব ও বন্দুকবাজির মতো একটি বিষয়ে তাঁর পারদর্শীতার ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করে তাঁর মৃত্যুতে শোকপ্রকাশ করেন অসামরিক বিমান পরিবহন মন্ত্রী হরদীপ সিং পুরি।

পঞ্চাশ বছর বয়সে হাতে তুলে নিয়েছিলেন বন্দুক। সেই শুরু তার বন্দুকবাজি। সঙ্গ দিয়েছিলেন ননদ প্রকাশী তোমরও। এরপর ৬৫ বছর বয়সে কম্পিটিটিভ শুটিংয়ে অংশগ্রহণ, জিতেছেন বন্দুকবাজির নানা প্রতিযোগীতা। ঝুলিতে পুড়েছেন ৩০টি ন্যাশনাল চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপের খেতাব। বিশ্বের বয়ঃজ্যেষ্ঠ বন্দুকবাজদের অন্যতম চন্দ্রো ও প্রকাশী তোমারের এই জুটি।

এঁদের বন্দুকের কর্তবে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে 'সান্ড কি আঁখ' ছবিটি তৈরি করে ফেলেন পরিচালক অনুরাগ কশ্যাপ। রিল লাইফে তাপসী পান্নু ও ভূমি পেডনেকারের অভিনয় ও তোমর সিস্টরসের গল্প মন কেড়েছিল দর্শকদের। ক্রমেই নেট মাধ্যমেও জনপ্রিয় হয়ে ওঠেন চন্দ্রো ও প্রকাশী তোমারের জুটি। আজ সঙ্গীহারা প্রকাশী।

সোশাল মিডিয়ার রীতিমতো একজন সেলিব্রেটি ছিলেন চন্দ্রো তোমার। শুধুমাত্র টুইটারেই রযেছে দু’লাখের বেশী ফলোয়ার্স। টুইটারে বেশ অ্যাক্টিভ ছিলেন তিনি। ইচ্ছে প্রকাশ করেছিলেন একবার অন্তত জম্মু-কাশ্মীর যেতে চান তিনি। অনুগামীদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেছিলেন কবে পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হয় জানিও। ঘুরে আসব একবার।

দাদির শরীর খারাপের খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই, তাঁর দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনার টুইটে উপচে পড়েছিল তার টুইটার অ্যাকাউন্ট। কিন্তু করোনার থাবায় স্তব্ধ হল বন্দুকের নল।
