ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਟਵਿੱਟਰ 'ਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੀਜੀਆਈ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਅਮਲੇ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸਬ-ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ 12 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਿਹੰਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਕ ਝੜਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਟਵੀਟ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ, "ਇਹ ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਕਿ ਐਸਆਈ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਪੀਜੀਆਈ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ, ਨਰਸਾਂ, ਪੈਰਾ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਜੀਆਈ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਦਾ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।"

ਸਹਾਇਕ ਸਬ-ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਸਾਲੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਬ-ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ (ਐਸਆਈ) ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਲਈ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਤਿੰਨ ਹੋਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਡਿਸਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪੀਜੀਆਈ ਦੇ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਠ ਘੰਟੇ ਦੀ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ।
