ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੁਸ਼ਮਾ ਸਵਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਪੈਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਏਮਜ਼ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਡਨੀ ਦਾ ਟਰਾਂਸਪਲਾਂਟ ਵੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 2019 ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
