ಸಿಂಧಿ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೌರತ್ವ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದ ನಡ್ಡಾ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಆಕ್ರೋಶದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದ್ರು. ನೂತನ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ 10 ಸಾಲು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಿಂದ ದೇಶದ ಜನರಿಗಾಗುವ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ 2 ಸಾಲು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ ನೋಡೋಣ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ದುರಾದೃಷ್ಟಕರ ಸಂಗತಿ ಎಂದು ಜೆ.ಪಿ.ನಡ್ಡಾ ಬೇಸರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಜವಾಹರಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರೂ ಸಹ ಹೊರಗಿನವರಿಗೆ ಪೌರತ್ವದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಪರವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. 2003 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಪೌರತ್ವ ಕಾನೂನನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಭರವಸೆ ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ರು.
