सीबीडीटी आयकर मामलों में निर्णय लेने वाला शीर्ष निकाय है. मोदी आयकर कैडर के 1982 बैच के राजस्व सेवा अधिकारी हैं. उन्हें सुशील चन्द्रा के स्थान पर नियुक्त किया गया है.

लोकसभा चुनाव से पहले सुशील चन्द्रा को चुनाव आयुक्त नियुक्त किया गया है. प्रमोद इस समय सीबीडीटी के सदस्य है. उनका चेयरमैन का कार्यकाल इस साल जून तक होगा.
