Happy to be part of Oxford's human trial for COVID-19 vaccine, says Deepak Paliwal

The novel coronavirus has prompted a global effort to fast-track the development of a safe and effective vaccine. Of more than 100 vaccines being developed all over the world, the Oxford- AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine AZD1222 is considered as the most advanced candidate in terms of development. Speaking to ETV Bharat, Deepak Paliwal, a UK citizen of Indian origin who volunteered for the Oxford's vaccine trial, shared his experiences as a clinical trial participant even as he expressed confidence that the jab will work against coronavirus adding they have just seen awesome results. Paliwal took part in the second phase of the human trial of COVID-19 vaccine conducted by Oxford University. He said he learnt about the trial during the first leg of April and enrolled himself. He said that he is happy to be part of this trial and also gave credit to his family and friends saying that due to the encouragement given by them, he got involved in this humanitarian cause. Paliwal is a pharmaceutical consultant who has been staying in London for over 10 years. He hails from Jaipur in Rajasthan.
