Insects swarm bridge in Telangana, bikers fall off

The Kakatiya canal bridge in Karimnagar district of Telangana turned out to be a nightmare for motorists as thousands of insects swarmed the bridge. Two-wheeler riders, in particular, found it hard to negotiate the insects that came onto them all at once. Several bikers lost control of their motorcycles, were knocked off their vehicles and sustained injuries. The locals were seen advising passersby to exercise caution while plying on the canal bridge. The Karimnagar police commissioner said officials from the agriculture department had collected samples of the insects to determine their species.
