1,128-metre Polavaram spillway constructed in 5 months

Construction of the 1,128-metre spillway bridge slab in Polavaram was completed in a record time of around five months. Around 5,200 cubic metres of concrete and 700 tonnes of steel were used for the construction of the slab, which began in September 2020. Despite floods in the state and the COVID pandemic, authorities finished construction on time.
