Muslims continued to hold Eid prayers in a congregation on the streets on Sunday despite government advice to worship at home. In Bekasi, Greater Jakarta, more than a thousand people held prayers as Muslims worldwide celebrate the three-day Eid al-Fitr at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. Indonesia's restrictions mean no congregational prayers at mosques and open fields, no family reunions, no relatives bearing gifts for children. But men, women, and children crowded the road in front of the An-Nur mosque. Most worshippers followed the coronavirus guidelines by wearing masks and distancing themselves from each other during prayer. The world’s largest Muslim-majority nation has reported nearly 22,000 infections and 1,350 fatalities linked to the virus.
