Alipurduar: One person was injured when a leopard attacked him while he was clicking pictures of the animal in West Bengal's Alipurduar district on Monday, Forest officials said.
"A leopard was found lying outside a tea garden after it was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. Local people thought that the animal was dead and started clicking pictures. But the leopard suddenly got up and attacked a man injuring him," the officials said.
"The leopard was hit by a vehicle and was injured. So when locals gathered he must have felt threatened and pounced upon them. We have taken him to a nearby veterinary hospital for treatment," the forest official said.
