Siliguri (West Bengal): Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leader Bimal Gurung held a meeting in Siliguri where he strongly attacked the BJP over its stand on the Gorkhas. He also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He returned to the district after three and a half years.
Attacking the BJP, he said, "The BJP has betrayed the Gorkhas. Not only in Darjeeling district, but across North Bengal, the Morcha will win every seat in the next elections. We are hopeful that our demands will be met soon."
At the end of today's meeting, Bimal Gurung told the media, "Even after three and a half years, people remember me. They have confidence. Many thanks for that. BJP did nothing for the people of the hills. So I joined the TMC party. BJP should not get a single vote in the hills. We will also hold a public meeting there. We will hold a public meeting in Dooars next week. Later in Darjeeling. The BJP has done nothing for the people of the hills, but Didi did as said. So I am with Didi."
