Devprayag (Uttarakhand): A heavy destruction has been caused due to the cloudburst in Uttarakhand's Devprayag town located in Tehri Garhwal district on May 11 evening.

Several shops and houses have been damaged because of the cloudburst at a place called Dasharatha Danda Parbat.

Heavy destruction due to cloudburst in Devprayag

Centura Sweet Shop, Aswal Jewelers, Control Shop, and ITI have suffered heavy damage due to waterlogging caused by large boulders and debris in Shanti Bazaar under the police station Devprayag town area.

Following the disaster mitigation efforts by local police station, people around the damaged buildings have been shifted from the spot. All the people have been hosted in the police station and bus station premises.

No casualties have been reported yet, a senior official said.
