New Delhi: Amid rumours that it has decided to replace the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, the BJP on Tuesday refuted any such plan and asserted that everything was well with the state government and it would continue to work for the development of the state.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, BJP national spokesperson Vijay Sonkar Shastri said that he was unaware of any such report that the saffron party was planning to change Chief Minister in Uttarakhand.
"I heard about it from you only, I didn't know that such reports were doing rounds," he said, adding that it was a strange story for him.
"There is no such plan. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has been doing fine and he will continue to serve the state and take it further on the road of development," the BJP leader said, adding that the BJP and the state government has a smooth relationship.
In Uttarakhand, BJP changed the chief minister in 2002, in 2009 and again in 2011 before the state went to Congress in 2012. Also, after the 2013 Kedarnath flash-floods, the Congress replaced Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna with Harish Rawat but lost the elections in 2017.
