Dehradun: Uttarakhand will go for polls in the first phase and the Indo-Nepal border will close 48 hours before voting in Uttarakhand on April 11. However, the emergency services will continue with the investigation, said official.
Ashok Kumar, director general of police (DGP) intelligence, has been appointed the new DGP (law and order) said that "two days before the voting, the security arrangement in the area sharing a border with China will also be beefed up."
Kumar also added that 85 per cent of interstate Himachal and Uttar Pradesh services will continue with proper checking.
"In view of the heavy rush on the international border of India-Nepal, strict checking campaign is being run by the Central Security Forces and the Civil Police and suspicious activities are being monitored through CCTV," Kumar added.
