Agra: A revolver, used in the killing of a 26-year-old woman doctor of the S N Medical College last week, has been recovered, the police said.
They said the murder accused, doctor Vivek Tiwari, had lied to them about the weapon that he had thrown it in the fields along the highway.
He was arrested from Jalaun district on Thursday last week. Yogita Gautam's body was found with injury marks along an isolated road stretch in Agra's Dauki area on August 19.
It was learnt that Tiwari, who was a senior of Gautam at their medical school in Moradabad, had been harassing her and allegedly putting pressure on her to marry him.
According to the police, Gautam, pursuing MD at the S N Medical College, went missing on Tuesday last and her mobile phone was not reachable after which her family approached the local police station and an FIR was lodged.
