For want of oxygen, people sleep under peepal tree in UP's Shahjahanpur

There is much discussion these days about a peepal tree in the Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The reason for this is that people facing breathing difficulties are now sleeping under the Peepal tree.

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh): The country is facing a deadly crunch of oxygen amid the COVID surge. During the past month, many Covid patients admitted to hospitals in various states died due to lack of medical oxygen.

There is much discussion about a peepal tree in the Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh these days. The reason for this is that people facing breathing difficulties and who were unable to get admitted to hospitals are now sleeping under the Peepal tree.

About half a dozen people belonging to two families are camping under the peepal tree outside the Tilhar town. They say that the peepal tree releases oxygen round the clock.
