Deoghar: Campaigning for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections in Sarath of Deoghar district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi blamed the Hemant Soren government for infiltration problem, asserting that the party will do everything to protect the tribals here.
Speaking about the problem of infiltration in Jharkhand, he said that number of tribals in the Santhal region has almost halved. "If the tribal population continues to decrease in this manner then soon water, forest and land will be occupied by others. A major conspiracy is being carried out to change the identity of Jharkhand. JMM has done everything possible to make infiltrators permanent residents of the state. Documents were made overnight for the infiltrators," he said.
The PM said that it is because of the infiltrators that employment is being snatched away. "The Hemant Soren government told the court that there has been no infiltration in Jharkhand. If NDA government is formed, nobody will be allowed to tamper with 'roti beti and maati' in tribal land," he said. Presently, tribal lands are being snatched away while daughters are being cheated in the name of marriage, he added.
Hitting out at the Congress, PM Modi accused the grand old party leaders of abusing the sisters and daughters. Citing example of Sita Soren, he said that a Congress leader had made ill comments about her. This happens because such leaders think that it is their government and nothing will happen to them, he said. "We made a tribal, Draupadi Murmu, the President. But the Congress used all its strength to defeat her. Even today the Congress does not miss insulting the President of the country," he alleged.
Cornering the Congress on its demand for caste census, the PM said that the the party wants to end reservation and accused it of conspiring to scrap reservations for people belonging to SC, ST and OBC communities in an attempt to "weaken" them.
"Congress has dangerous intentions. Congress' 'shehzada' is conspiring to scrap reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs. The prince's father had declared reservation as slavery, bonded labour but he was later defeated in elections. His father had issued advertisements to remove reservations...We will thwart any such conspiracy," Modi said, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his father and former PM Rajiv Gandhi without naming them.
