SP's Azam Khan will be sent to jail soon: BJP leader

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan has been in news recently due to his controversial comments on actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada. BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi claimed that SP party President should have stopped Azam from passing such statements.

Lucknow: Following the controversial comments on actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada by Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi has claimed that very soon Azam Khan will be sent to jail.

The incident happened in Rampur druing an election campaign, the video of which had gone viral in social media.

Rakesh even alleged that, when Azam Khan was passing remarks on Jaya Prada, SP President Akhilesh Yadav was silently smiling.

He said that Azam Khan keeps giving such abusive statements and always remains in talks.

Reportedly, the Supreme court had previously reprimanded Azam Khan. The Election Commission had also banned his speech in the 2017 assembly elections.

He even claimed that Akhilesh should have stopped his party member from passing such remarks.

The National Commission for Women Monday strongly condemned the extremely derogatory remarks made by SP leader Azam Khan against actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada and issued a show cause notice to him.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against Khan, with UP Police booking him under IPC Section 509 for insulting the modesty of a woman.
