Muradabad (UP): Gourav, son of a motor mechanic, has topped in the Uttar Pradesh Board class 10 exams, the result for which was announced on Saturday.
Gourav, a resident of Harthala area under Civil line police limits in Moradabad has secured 4th rank by scoring 94.84% marks. His father works as a motor mechanic in Moradabad market.
Gourav, a student of Chitragupt Inter-college has stood fourth with 569 out of 600. He was elated at the results and said he would try to qualify to get admission into IIT.
"My father supported me with all the study material with whatever he earns by working in a machinery workshop. I want to improve the economic condition of my family through dedication and hard work," he said.
Gourav's teachers said that he has been a hard-working and smart student since childhood and every student should work harder to achieve such a position.
There was a wave of happiness across the village when the news of Gourav being the state topper circulated. The villagers also took sweets to Gourav's house.
