Slain Ghaziabad journo's family demands action against station in-charge

The family of slain journalist Vikram Joshi who was attacked by miscreants on July 20, has demanded strict action against station in-charge as they believe that he was equally guilty and was also involved in the crime. Police so far arrested nine people in connection with the case and the station in-charge has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.

Ghaziabad: After police arrested nine people in connection with the attack on a journalist in Ghaziabad's Vijay Nagar on July 20, the family of Vikram Joshi demands strict punishment against the station in-charge who has been suspended for his alleged inaction.

Joshi's family believes that the station in-charge is equally guilty in his killing as ahead of the mishap Joshi informed the local outpost in-charge on call that he will be attacked to which the station in-charge said that he is unwell and will look into the matter later. Following this, a departmental inquiry has been initiated against him.

Reportedly, the journalist was shot at by some assailants, days after he filed a police complaint with Vijay Nagar Police Station stating that some men were harassing his niece. The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera. The miscreants opened fire at Joshi, near his residence and Joshi has suffered a bullet injury on his head.

Joshi's family alleged the station in-charge of corruption and negligence. They said that he intentionally did not turn up to the complaint as the attack was planned and he was also involved in the crime.

As per the family, the attackers earlier visited the police station before attacking Joshi.

Throwing light on the case, the youngest daughter of Joshi revealed that she witnessed the entire incident live and managed to call her aunt after running half a kilometre to reach her house following which they rushed Joshi to the hospital.
