Muradnagar: Congress leader Satish Sharma and Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who wanted to go to Shamli to meet Brahmin families leaving the district because of alleged attacks on them, were stopped at the Gangnahar here.
Protesting against the police action, Sharma and Krishnam slammed the Yogi Adityanath government, asking if there was any curfew imposed in the district of Shamli, and if not then why can't they go there.
"I'm not going anywhere. We will sit here only. The state administration may kill us but I will not go back," Krishnam said, adding that the police stopping them was "anti-constitutional".
He said Brahmin families were being attacked and they just wanted to meet them.
