Lakhimpur: Special Investigation Committee and the Crime Branch have released some pictures related to the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri on Oct. 3, which claimed the lives of 8 people. Announcing rewards for the informants, police asked citizens about the identity of the miscreants captured in the pictures and assured them that the informer's identity will be kept confidential.
Police on Tuesday released a total of six pictures of the day of violence and some officials numbers for contact. The police scrutinize six pictures from more than 100 phones recovered from the people who were present at the spot during the violence.
The Special Investigation Committee and Crime Branch under the leadership of DIG Upendra Agrawal have arrested 10 accused so far including the main accused Ashish Mishra son of Minister of State for Home Affairs of India, Ajay Kumar Mishra.
A total of eight people, including four farmers and a local journalist besides two BJP men and their driver were killed in the ensuing violence on Sunday. The families of the killed farmers and the journalist too had been given the compensation of Rs 45 lakh earlier by the Uttar Pradesh government.
